Course 3401 Blog

I know in class Thursday we were discussing race and racism, and over the weekend some friends and I were on that topic. Some of my friends who believe that they are highly educated, argued with me believing that everyone has a race and that in some way everyone has internal racism in them. I argued with them until my voice became horse. I just laughed at them as they went back and forth between the two. I advised them that I wish that they could sit in on my Social Inequaility class.

I hope we go over the test too. I went in feeling confident but found myself second guessing a lot.

I will have the blogs graded (2 points) by this weekend.

The first time I heard that statement was while I was in church. However, the answer to the question was answer in Mrs. Warren's Class. They are there because of the systems that have been created. Some because of the color of the skin while other is the lack of education. I believe that is the biggest of the problem.

There is another scripture that I heard, People perish because of the lack of knowledge. If education was free, I am sure more people would attend school. It would only help the ecomny. People would have better paying jobs and would proablly spend.
It makes me think that the rich and powerful have always wanted to be on top. Keep the poor down and moving into section where they couldn't see the forest for the trees.
No hope of ever getting out of poverty sticken areas.
They have rebuilt some of the inner city by moving out some of what they label as undesireable and brought in working class people to live in these new homes/apartment.
These home /apartment were suppose to be new and of quaility but after 2 years maybe even one year of living there all of the siding on some of them fell off after a hard rain and the steps you walk up to the 2nd floor came aloose.
Things aren't really what they seem.

I think that it's sad that society divides the world in so many different ways. Race, class, gender,even sexuality plays a part in your place in life. Titles mean do much to people. They let them determine who they are and what they will become. If we were to stop depending on labels and focused on the human race as one I feel that the world would be a better place.

I wonder if black people turn white when they reach a certain income level as was explained to me in class, do white people turn black when they lose their wealth. I am just wondering.
