Will the Poor Always Be withUs ? By Nadine Thomas

The first time I heard that statement was while I was in church. However, the answer to the question was answer in Mrs. Warren's Class. They are there because of the systems that have been created. Some because of the color of the skin while other is the lack of education. I believe that is the biggest of the problem.

There is another scripture that I heard, People perish because of the lack of knowledge. If education was free, I am sure more people would attend school. It would only help the ecomny. People would have better paying jobs and would proablly spend.
It makes me think that the rich and powerful have always wanted to be on top. Keep the poor down and moving into section where they couldn't see the forest for the trees.
No hope of ever getting out of poverty sticken areas.
They have rebuilt some of the inner city by moving out some of what they label as undesireable and brought in working class people to live in these new homes/apartment.
These home /apartment were suppose to be new and of quaility but after 2 years maybe even one year of living there all of the siding on some of them fell off after a hard rain and the steps you walk up to the 2nd floor came aloose.
Things aren't really what they seem.

I totally agree with you Miss Nadia things are rarely what they seem. I am so confused by it all. I have been working and believing in the criminal justice system for over 15 years. It deeply bothers me to think so many men and women are possibly incarcerated because of a system that trapped them. I have loved this business my entire life. Now I can't help but wonder who am I working for and why? Am I abetting a system that strategically exploits the less fortunate? I thought I could help people in this field, it seems to me I am doing more harm. Where are the answers? Maybe it is in the knowledge that the prophets spoke of and that you mentioned earlier. However as Ms. Warren has pointed out even the education is systematically dictated. The state controls what we learn and how much we learn. With these kind of odds against all of us who don't fall in the upper class category I think it is safe to say the poor will always be among us. If we are not careful the poor will be us, and that is SAD!
