Through my love of technology and passion for creating, I turned into a programmer specializing in PHP and JavaScript, and a web developer. My journey in the world of code began back in the late 1980s, when my first computer, a Commodore 64, became my best friend. At first, I experimented with writing programs and games in BASIC, drawing my knowledge from only one book dedicated to the language. Those were times I recall with great fondness.
In the 1990s I expanded my skills to include Pascal and C languages. After the turn of the century, in 2000, I began to take a serious interest in programming and web development. My fascination was sparked by the PHP language, which I have since mainly specialized in. At the same time, I also explored JavaScript (which didn't have frameworks back then) and MySQL. I remember what it was like back then, when creating a website had different facets depending on the browser used, and adapting it to each browser was a challenge. Those were truly challenging times, but extremely exciting!
One of my first projects, which dates back to the 2000s, is a music collection browser. For this project, I created the application in PHP and fully pure JavaScript, using HTML Application (HTA) technology, which is still available on Windows 10. No HTML files were used throughout the interface development process, except for the index.php file to load the .js files. The entire structure was generated using JavaScript. Interestingly, the code written between 2003 and 2005 in pure JavaScript still works today without any problems and does not need any improvements.
The idea for this browser came with the development of XMLHttpRequest technology in browsers, starting with the ActiveX object in Internet Explorer. I used the look of explorer.exe from Windows XP as the GUI, and tried to implement similar functionality in JavaScript: the ability to select files and folders with the mouse and keyboard, double-click for entering a directory or opening a file.
You can see the early development phase of this project in a video available on YouTube at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9w2P0-NWRmU. The video shows what the app looked like at the time, but many new features have been added since then.
In addition to this project, I also built several other sites, including a celebrity growth information portal. This site contained several thousand artists in its database and was available at: http://web.archive.org/web/20130805065347/http://wzrostgwiazd.info/. At the time, this portal filled the information gap on Google by providing answers to questions about the growth of celebrities. However, as time went on, direct answers to such queries began to appear in search results, making it pointless to continue this project.
Then began my professional career, which continues to this day. Working in SEO companies, I had the opportunity to write many SEO tools. I designed an advanced system for adding entries to directories, classifieds and online forums. I also created order management panels and tools for monitoring Google positions.
One of my latest and most important projects is an online store called Winyle Online. We offer both brand new, pre-packaged and used phonograph records, as well as compact discs and cassette tapes. I have been a record collector for over twenty years. Many of them, of which I was the first owner, have already found new owners, but you can still find some gems in our assortment. All our products are in excellent condition, almost perfect.
The store was created independently, using my knowledge of programming. With the introduction of the requirements for "web vitals" in 2021, I optimized the script so that it always scores above 90 on mobile devices. Few online stores in Poland can boast such an achievement, even a year after Google introduced these guidelines as an element affecting SEO.
