Kindergarten is a delicate time in the life of a young student. For most, this is the first time they will be exposed to a classroom. With reading, writing, grammar, and basic math skills all being covered, your child must pick up these skills in order to move forward. But most importantly they will be able to recall this information quick, fast and in a hurry because that is the way that it was given to them. The end goal should be making sure the information sticks, do not make it a time-consuming ordeal.

• Draw the Line

One thing we see parents struggle with when they try to home school their children is drawing a line between being a parent and a teacher. The child is too comfortable and because of this, it is impossible for them to differentiate when to joke around or when to be quiet and learn. There are ways that you can go about this without having to discipline your child. Maybe you should have them call you Mr. or Ms. While in the learning sessions. They will be able to help your child get to a level that is reasonable and on pace with the rest of the children.
