Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Ryan graduated from Virginia Tech in 2007 with a degree in English. He is currently a vegetarian Masters student in English at the University of Rochester, interested in contemporary race, gender, literary-ecological studies, and media reform. Next year, he hopes to teach as an adjunct in Baltimore, Raleigh, Anchorage, or anywhere. He will also be co-writing/producing/directing and acting in a short film with his brother Daniel. He is seriously considering getting his ESL certification in Prague (poor bastard's never been to Europe). Professionally, he would like to find a balance between professorial work and social activism. "Let's reclaim universities from the alienating abstractions of postmodernist theory and reunite scholars with the people they're meant to help." He likes snow. He has never had a cat, but currently resides with a chinchilla. He doesn't like writing about myself in the third person.
