How can you leverage on the Pandemic as an Investor?

Famous investors like Robert Kiyosaki claims to have made a chunk of investments during the 2008 financial crisis, with stock prices dropping daily. The return on investment, in the long run, was also worth it. This assertion is repeating itself in the wake of the Coronavirus Pandemic but made by Marc Lasry, who is the co-owner of a hedge Fund company.

In his description, the period the world is in right now is an opportunity of a lifetime, which will never repeat itself if lost. While it seems unfair to make the most out of hard times and struggling businesses, it is just how the stock market works. According to him, there are several companies currently in trouble, and it has opened a window of opportunity for investment. At these times, several persons are looking to sell their stocks, which is a good time for investors to buy. According to him, even in the face of liquidation, he would still be able to make a profit. Though the current economy of the world is holding off well against an impact from the Coronavirus; there is still some impact felt. The dip being experienced currently is not as bad as the 2008 financial crisis, but if the world were to experience a second wave of the virus, things might get out of hand.

Though, going into the market now will require that you plan for the long-term, as it may take up to two years for the economy to be back to normal, and give you the “Returns on Investment; you deserve. No one knows how long it will take for the world to be back to normal, but normalcy is bound to be restored once a vaccine is developed.

As an investor, there are some things you should be doing to take advantage of the situation. It would help if you diversified your portfolio: By having investments in several companies in different industries, you are sure to be able to weather the storm. Though it would help if you were very careful of the company you buy into, and make sure that you have all your records straight and document at the point of buying.

The volatility of the market is real, which makes it very important to also listen to the opinion or perspective of other experts when buying or selling stocks. The market is not as predictable as it used to, especially with everyone cuddled up at home in a bid to minimize physical contact as much as possible. Times have changed, but as an investor, frantically looking for a window of opportunity is very important. It is best to buy now when others are looking to sell, as it is the best way to leverage on the unfortunate situation the world is in. The stocks you buy now will probably not be any profit for the next two years, but if you have carefully selected your target company at the start, the investment pays in the long run.
