Mohamed Salah, the Real Life Football Phenomenon

When the numbers are given, there’s no denying that Mohamed Salah has been one of the greatest football players in the world today. With millions of fans worldwide, this Egyptian phenomenon has taken Europe by storm this season as he plays for Liverpool F.C., under Jurgen Klopp, as well as his national team, Egypt. But how did he get to where he is now? And what makes him so different from other football stars? 8Xbet tell you down bellow

He lived in a small city

Ghanya, Egypt. It is a very small city in terms of fame and reputation; however it became famous because of an Egyptian footballer named Mohamed Salah. Although he was born there in 1992, he moved to El Mokawloon SC when he was 10 years old. He then played his first match for that club when he was just 15 years old.

Starting out as a footballer

Salah was born in Nagrig, Gharbia Governorate, Egypt on 15 June 1992. He joined El Mokawloon youth team at age 14 and transferred to Basel in January 2011. Before moving to Basel, he was rejected by his hometown club Al Ahly due to being too short and skinny.

Becoming an idol

Mohamed Salah was little known in Egypt before signing with FC Basel in 2012. His career has skyrocketed since then and he is now one of Europe’s most sought after players. To get a sense of how he became a football phenomenon, here are his two major breakthroughs: FC Basel → Chelsea F.C., 2013-2014 → Liverpool F.C., 2014–Present.

Being an international star

In 2018 Mohamed Salah was named as a competitor for both The Best FIFA Men’s Player of 2017 and The Best FIFA Men’s Player of 2018 awards. Winning those awards would make him only the second African to win these awards in a single year after Cameroonian player Samuel Eto’o in 2005. In September 2014, he was nominated for BBC African Footballer of Year 2014. He finished third behind Yaya Tourè? and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Setting records

Mohamed Salah has been a revelation for Liverpool and Egypt over these past two years. Making a move from Roma to Liverpool in 2016, he was signed for a club record fee of £36.9 million. Since then, he has become one of Jurgen Klopp’s most trusted players and continues to break records left right and center. During his second season at Anfield, he broke Liverpool’s all-time Premier League goal record by scoring 32 goals in 38 games.

Looking back

A year ago, Mohamed Salah was not a household name. If you were to ask someone on your street about him and his time at Liverpool FC so far, you would have gotten one of two answers—Oh yeah! I remember him from Chelsea! What happened? or Who is he? Wasn’t he loaned out for some reason? What about that transfer to Chelsea? Did it actually happen?
