Botox vs Dermal Fillers

The demand for wrinkle treatment is increasing. There are so many over-the-counter treatments available which can help to treat the problem effectively. The two most important methods are Botox and Dermal Fillers. Both of them are effective ways to deal with the issue. But there are some differences which you should consider before selecting any one option for treatment.

How is the Treatment Done?

Botox
The Botox is obtained from bacteria which is basically a purified form of botulinum toxin. This is really helpful in correcting the issue of wrinkle. Moreover, it can also be used to reduce the issue of fine lines as well as excessive sweating in some areas. Injecting the Botox in a certain area will help to reduce the problem for certain months.
The Botox actually blocks out the nerve signals by paralyzing the face on a temporary basis when it is injected in the facial muscle. Because of no movement the wrinkles become very soft, it gets reduced or it is removed. However, this treatment option is not a permanent solution.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers add fullness to the face as they contain certain chemicals. This is mostly given around the cheeks, lips, and mouth. Additionally, it can also be used to make the wrinkles soft and to reduce scars. In this polylactic acid, polyalkylimide, calcium hydroxylapatite, and polymethyl-methacrylate microspheres are used. The fillers can last between 6 months to 2 years.

Who should avoid the treatment?

Botox
Patients who are suffering from medical conditions like severe nerve damage or muscle complaint should first tell the doctor before getting the treatment. Otherwise, it can increase the risk of some type of complication. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding then you should not get this treatment.
Dermal Fillers

Are there any side effects?

Botox
Although there is no type of risk or side effect with this treatment. But you should keep in mind that after the procedure you may notice slight bruising and swelling because of the needle. Moreover, you can also resume your normal working routine right after the treatment.
Dermal Filler
As compared to Other treatment it contains slightly more side effect. However, these symptoms will go away after two weeks. Some of them are an allergic reaction, itching, infection, redness, scarring, sores, and bruising. You can apply an ice pack to reduce the numbness and swelling.

How much time to see the results?

Botox
After undergoing the treatment, you have to wait for at least 5 to 7 days to see the effective results of the procedure.
Dermal Filler
In the case of filler, the results of the treatment can be seen right away the procedure is done.

If you want to get the treatment then you should consult the doctor as they can guide you better about the entire procedure and which method will suit you best by examining your health condition and other factors.
